Reading Survey

Recently, a reading survey was distributed to classes in all four grades. The results were as follows:

There were 82 surveys completed.

Out of those,

-63 read more than 4 books this year.

-68 read on their own time for pleasure.

-Favorite types of literature rank as follows (students could choose more than 1):

3 newspaper 49 votes

-Favorite genres rank as follows (students could choose more than 1):

1 horror 42 votes

2 suspense/action 36 votes

3 mystery 28 votes

-Favorite types of magazines are:

1 fashion / beauty 38 votes

2 sports 28 votes

2 music 28 votes

-42 people enjoyed the books they read for English class, whereas 26 did not. Some favorite books are:

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Flowers for Algernon

To Kill a Mockingbird

Lord of the Flies

-When asked if they did text book reading when assigned, 47 said yes and 27 said no.

-59 people said they like SSR; only 19 do not like it.
