Jazz Choir Hits the Road

By: Aimee Jack

On March 2nd, Lewiston High School's newly founded Jazz Choir packed up it's mikes, slipped into their snazzy new uniforms, and sang their hearts out at the district two vocal competition. The new chorus director, Mr. Avery, formed the Jazz Choir, which consists of 16 members from all grade levels. The auditions were held early in the year and practice began in September for their performing season. You may remember the Christmas concert they gave in tandem with the band.

The Jazz Choir members are: Marshall Ahonen, Seth Morton, Shawn Robitaille, Jason Leighton, Justin Labbe, Haziq Loftin, Jesse Hammond, Travis Morin, Abby Gendron, Hilary Walker, Tabitha Biron, Rachel Fernald, Angela Roy, Aurelie Delcourt, Aimee Jack and Sabria Biron. The pieces they competed with are entitled "Blue Skies," "This Masquerade," and "The Shadow of Your Smile."

Good Job to the Blue Devil Jazz Choir!
