Center Stage Ensemble Announces Straight Show; Welcome to Four Way
By: Johanna Mathieu
Center Stage Ensemble officers have voted on the straight show this fall and the verdict is: Welcome to Four Way: The Town Time Forgot. Auditions for the show were held on Monday, September 27 in the cafeteria and rehearsals will begin next week. The show will be directed by Center Stage Ensemble advisor, Dick Martin, produced by Johanna Mathieu, and stage managed by Amy Parker. The performances are scheduled for December 3rd and 4th.
The year is 1993. The place is a small midwest town where two pioneer trails once met. And the subject matter... a stop sign is being put at the town's only intersection where a horrible car accident occurred the year before. However, the show is about much more than just a debate over a stop sign. It's a play about people wanting to maintain their life and feeling pressure from the outside world to change and come of age. Will the town crumble to the forces surrounding them or will the people unite and fight for what they believe in?
Despite the relatively small cast of 7 males and 6 females, in order for this play to be a success we are going to need lots of interested people to do such things as props, costumes, lights, sound, stage crew and ushering. If you are at all interested in helping out come to the next Center Stage Ensemble meeting, October 4th in C102 right after school.
