Scholarship Applications: How to Know Which Ones to Apply For

Step 1: Begin with a stack of applications.
Step 2: Discard any of the applications that have monetary awards of less than $1000 or require any sort of monetary investment, including processing fees.
Step 3: If an essay is required and its supposed to be: A. typed, B. more than 500 words, C. has a prompt that is something to the effect of "what do you want to be when you grow up?" D. written in French, or E. has a prompt that is more than 1 sentence, then discard of the application.
Step 4: Determine who the money is paid to and when. Discard of those that say, "rewards paid directly to the college upon successful completion of first semester."
Step 5: If you still have any applications left: discard them. Everyone and their brother will be applying for scholarships that easy to fill out.
